WWE King & Queen of the Ring predictions (2024)

WWE King & Queen of the Ring is all set to take place today (Sat., May 25, 2024) from the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It begins at 12:00 pm ET with the Countdown show leading right on into the main course at 1 pm ET on Peaco*ck in the U.S., WWE Network everywhere else, or your local cable pay-per-view provider.

Luckily for you Cagesiders, our staff of learned wrestling blowhards is here to help figure out just how the event is going to play out with predictions for each match on the card.

Let’s get to it.

WWE KING & QUEEN OF THE RING PREDICTIONS

WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul

Geno Mrosko: There’s not much to say about this one, really. We all know how it’s going to play out, and if you didn’t then you should have when they took away the idea of doing it for both titles. Pick: Cody Rhodes

Sean Rueter: Look, this match wasn’t a part of Triple H’s long-term plans. We know that. They’ve crafted a decent enough story out of it. Let’s all just be grateful the Saudis aren’t asking for Yokozuna to be booked for shows there any more. Pick: Cody Rhodes

Kyle Decker: It’s a shame that they booked a very interesting match (title vs. title) and then decided to make it much less interesting. Pick: Cody Rhodes

Claire Elizabeth: Cody said he’s gonna beat him so bad he’s gonna regret ever stepping in the ring with him, and I believe it. Pick: Cody Rhodes

Cain A. Knight: Cody was always going to win this match, and any sliver of doubt about that outcome was removed when Logan didn’t put his belt on the line. Pick: Cody Rhodes

Women’s World Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

Geno Mrosko: There’s just no way they do a quick title change here before even firmly establishing Lynch as champion again. Morgan’s revenge tour is compelling, and her taking Rhea Ripley out gives her some credibility but not quite enough to walk out of this show as champion. Pick: Becky Lynch

Sean Rueter: Becky’s not going anywhere, but if WWE wants to make her contract situation an angle she has to lose here. Maybe she just wants a vacation after her impromptu title run? Either way, it makes sense for this Revenge Tour to end before Rhea returns and starts hers. Pick: Liv Morgan

Kyle Decker: I was going to pick Bex early on in this feud, but the more I thought about it, the more I think it makes more sense for a heel Morgan to take from her and eventually feud with Rhea Ripley. I still think Morgan is overmatched on most promos, but I think this heel version of her is maybe her best version in regards to that. Pick: Liv Morgan

Claire Elizabeth: I’m giving a lot of credence to Becky’s line about “okay but what happens after the revenge tour” and Liv’s completely limp answer, and a loss here is gonna send Morgan off for some soul-searching and purpose-finding. Pick: Becky Lynch

Cain A. Knight: Liv will probably be champion by the time Rhea Ripley returns, but I don’t think that’s happening right away. Pick: Becky Lynch

Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed

Geno Mrosko: Call me crazy here but I’m going to make a guess that the Creed Brothers show up, join up with Gable to form a new Alpha Academy, and steal the title for him because it’s a triple threat and there are no disqualifications. Yes, Zayn hasn’t been champion very long but why not? You don’t want to be too predictable, after all. Pick: Chad Gable

Sean Rueter: He just reminded us he’s Arab af. Sami’s basically the new Mansoor when it comes to these shows. Pick: Sami Zayn

Kyle Decker: I look at triple threat title matches as ways to continue title reigns and stories without the main players (Gable & Zayn in this case) getting pinned. I think Chad will win the title, but after the Creed Brothers officially join with him. Pick: Sami Zayn

Claire Elizabeth: Soul beats body and mind every time baby! Pick: Sami Zayn

Cain A. Knight: Otis finally has enough of Chad Gable’s abuse and costs him the match. Pick: Sami Zayn

King of the Ring Tournament Final: GUNTHER vs. Randy Orton

Geno Mrosko: It definitely feels like they’re building to Orton finally winning the King of the Ring and adding that to his already impressive resume, leading to what would be a fun showdown with Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. But I just can’t bet against GUNTHER losing in a big match. Pick: GUNTHER

Sean Rueter: Two PLE losses in a row for Der Ring General? Looks that way, scripted fight fans. Will be very interesting to see how they do this, because Gunther will probably be World Heavyweight champ before too long. This is where we get the set-up for the Legacy feud, though. Pick: Randy Orton

Kyle Decker: With a SummerSlam title match on the line, it feels like that choreographs Randy to win. Cody vs. Randy would be a title worthy SummerSlam match. Not that they can’t go with GUNTHER but whatever that title match would be doesn’t feel as interesting as the Legacy feud. Pick: Randy Orton

Claire Elizabeth: When GUNTHER gets a title shot, he should probably win it his first try, and Cody absolutely is not going to lose at SummerSlam, and the Ring General punishing the Viper’s injured knee until he succumbs to the RKO sounds like a good time, so yeah, Legacy feud, let’s do it. Pick: Randy Orton

Cain A. Knight: I’ve been expecting a SummerSlam main event of Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton ever since Cody won the belt, so now that the stakes of this tournament make it possible, it seems like an easy call. Pick: Randy Orton

Queen of the Ring Tournament Final: Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax

Geno Mrosko: I’m going to go out on a limb and say they use this to help make a new star, which they seem awfully keen on with Lyra. They’ve got the chance to basically do what they did in NXT on the main roster. Pick: Lyra Valkyria

Sean Rueter: Valkyria needs some more main roster experience before she’s ready for anything close to a “Big 4” title shot. This is what we’ve been building to since the Irresistible Force returned last year. Pick: Nia Jax

Kyle Decker: Perfect spot for a heel win here. Pick: Nia Jax

Claire Elizabeth: Bayley caretaking the title on the way to Nia taking it from her at SummerSlam feels right, even if I don’t find it especially exciting. Pick: Nia Jax

Cain A. Knight: You don’t beat both Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair just to lose the match that matters the most. Pick: Nia Jax

That’s who we see the card playing out.
