Lloyd Irving vs. Kirito[]

This one... well, this was my very first battle here, and to be honest it was one of my very few actually good ideas from Season 1. The reason is because it was a battle I had thought of and wanted to do for a long time, and since no one else had done it anywhere else, I just stumbled across this website and decided to add something here. So I posted this.

To be honest, this was probably one of my easier fights to write. In terms of fighting style, the two are pretty similar, and their personalities are pretty similar as well. The most difficult part of this battle, to be honest, was figuring out when Lloyd was going to make his finishing move.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of the very few battles I've written that I could actually see becoming a real battle, though Lloyd will probably fight Vyse and Kirito will probably fight Shiroe.
  • I binge-watched Sword Art Online and played through Tales of Symphonia twice just months before writing this battle.
  • This is the battle that started Kirito's infamous losing streak.
  • Asuna appears several times throughout the battle.
  • Almost all of Lloyd's dialogue is direct in-game quotes.

Palutena vs. Madoka Kaname[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (2)
  • Words: 1,168

Don't even ask me why I thought of this idea way back when. I was on drugs or something.

Anyway, I'd been looking for an opponent to pit against Palutena when I decided to do this battle. Smash 4 for the 3DS had been recently released, and playing Palutena was really starting to grow on me. After giving it some thought, I decided, "Hey! Another cute Goddess from fiction! How about Madoka?"

...But man, nothing could prepare me for what would happen next. After a binge-watch of Puella Magi Madoka Magica on Netflix, it became clear that Palutena would not emerge from this battle as the victor, let alone someone who had a chance of victory.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of the very few battles I've written with an alternate outcome, and I wrote it out of pity toward Palutena.
  • I overestimated Palutena a lot in this fight.
  • The fact that I wrote this haunts me to this day.
  • The final clash at the end was inspired by Dragon Ball Z.
  • Kyubey has a cameo in this battle.

Pit vs. Sayaka Miki[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (3)
  • Words: 848

...Again, this is one of those battles that had a really lame connection. And I pumped out a follow-up to the last battle I'd written pretty quickly, so this one still isn't a fight that I liked very much.

Anyway, I knew from the beginning that Pit was going to be the one landing most of the attacks, but that it wouldn't matter to Sayaka that much thanks to her healing. Honestly, if it weren't for that, then I would have given this one to Pit. But the Soul Gem thing ruined that.

So I was going to give this one to Sayaka, but of course Pit's Guardian Orbitars got in the way. And the only thing that prevented this from being an all-out stalemate was the OP Oktavia von Seckendorff, which forced Sayaka out of the game. I knew Pit wouldn't last too long against it, especially without Palutena's help.

One thing I will never understand is why people like this fight so much. It's one of my weaker fights in my opinion, and I believe I have written much better fights since this one. Oh well.

Trivia[]

  • To this day, the original version of this fight is the only official draw I've had in my series.
  • If I were to redo this battle and only use Pre-Rebellion Sayaka, I believe Pit would score the victory this time around.
  • I rewatched Madoka Magica to get an idea of Sayaka's abilities for this fight (and that's where she secured her place as waifu).
  • Kyoko Sakura makes a cameo in this fight.
  • I am honestly very surprised that this fight is as popular as it is.

Paper Mario vs. Mr. Game & Watch[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (4)
  • Words: 1,567

Oh, this fight. This was easily my favorite of all of Season 1 to write, if only for how quirky and lighthearted it was. I really was going for the feel of a Paper Mario battle, and because neither character can talk I decided to make it as random and quick as I possibly could. And I had an absolute blast writing it.

I tried to portray Mr. Game & Watch like a boss in the Paper Mario games in this one, which is why Mr. Game & Watch was usually the one to go for the offensive in this fight while Paper Mario was the one countering his moves and striking back harder.

Looking back, I guess I should have included Mr. Game & Watch's Master Sword (that he canonically has, actually), but I don't think it would have changed things too much. Paper Mario has some degree of toonforce and he just has more overall power. It was still really fun to write out though.

Trivia[]

  • I had more fun writing this battle than any I've ever written.
  • Mr. Game & Watch taking Paper Mario to the Flat Zone was done as a reference to Ryu VS Scorpion.
  • I feel like I botched some of Game & Watch's research, though I doubt it would change the fight.
  • I could have included far more abilities on Paper Mario's end of things, but then it would raise questions on whether it's game mechanics, whether he can still use them, etc.
  • This is the first battle I've ever written where there is no blood whatsoever.
  • This is the first battle where no character makes a cameo appearance.

Slenderman vs. Jeff the Killer[]

  • Words: 461

Alright, so I was asking my brother for ideas for Death Battles. He instantly told me, "Slenderman vs. Jeff the Killer!". Hoping to cut research times shorter, I asked him about both characters and their abilities. Especially since he considered himself to be a creepypasta nerd at that time.

What we got was a rather unorthodox Death Battle. Instead of Jeff and Slenderman striking each other with their most powerful attacks, it was more about Jeff avoiding Slenderman at each sight and then getting one lucky shot in after some close calls and cleverness on Jeff's part. That's why the battle is so short and sucks so much.

Before you say anything, YES. I KNOW I GOT THE OUTCOME WRONG. I don't care, I have zero interest in rewriting this battle, and I'd rather put it behind me. The more I act like this battle doesn't exist, the closer I get to believing it.

Trivia[]

  • I feel that I got the outcome wrong entirely, mostly due to shoddy research on Slenderman's part.
  • I'd redo this battle to give Slenderman the win, but I honestly don't care enough about this battle to do that.
  • This battle was originally going to be longer, but I hated writing it so much that I decided to cut it short.

Seriously though, don't talk about this battle around me. We don't speak of it. However, if one good thing came out of this battle, it was having a horror-themed battle every season.

Twitch Plays Pokemon Battle Royale[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (6)
  • Words: 900

To be honest, ever since seeing the Pokemon Battle Royale and Twitch Plays Pokemon, I really wanted to see this battle materialize, either over canon DB or through fanfiction. Since I'd already written four battles on this wiki (SHUT UP that battle you're thinking of doesn't exist), I decided to give it a go.

I based a lot of things off of the Pokemon Battle Royale in this fight, from the basic brutality of it all to the fact that they fight with little context whatsoever. I knew Anarchy would stomp from the beginning, but I knew I'd have fun writing it out.

Even if that meant killing ATV and Lord Helix, my two favorites.

Trivia[]

  • This battle was delayed on account of being difficult to write.
  • Almost every bit of this battle was inspired by the Pokemon Battle Royale in some way.
  • Boomstick's recurring "Ayyyyy!" joke was one of the very few jokes I've had him make that I still remember to this day.
  • The anticlimactic power struggle at the end was more of a subversion/reality ensues of Dragon Ball Z.

Taokaka vs. Blair[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (7)
  • Words: 379 (Seriously, that's how much it sucks)

This fight... well, it just came to me randomly. This was the first of many fights I would do that used a combatant previously seen on Death Battle, so I was lost on how to do her analysis. To be honest, almost everything I know about Taokaka comes from Death Battle's own research.

Neither of these characters really have a big arsenal, so I really half-assed the fight. As with Slenderman vs. Jeff, I'd rather just not acknowledge that this fight exists.

Trivia[]

  • I hate this fight.
  • Blair's breast-grabbing is a direct reference to her "fight" with Mizune.
  • Taokaka constantly calling Blair "Boobie Lady" is a reference to her in-game dialogue.
  • I rushed everything about this fight significantly, and I have no interest to remaster it.

Hiro Hamada and Baymax vs. Hiccup and Toothless[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (8)
  • Words: 1,134

Late in the year 2014, I'd seen Big Hero 6 in theaters. I absolutely loved the movie, and immediately I wanted to use Hiro and Baymax in a battle. I had a lot of trouble coming up with an opponent, but then some friends and I had a movie night where we watched How To Train Your Dragon 2. And then suddenly, it hit me - Hiro and Baymax vs. Hiccup and Toothless. It was the ultimate two-on-two, human-and-pet battle between legendary rivals Disney and DreamWorks, with a sort of technology/sci-fi versus fantasy theme to it. I knew I'd have a blast.

Now, writing the battle itself was a bit more difficult. Toothless is faster and more agile than Baymax, so it would be difficult for Baymax to land a solid hit - but Baymax's armor is tough, and Toothless would eventually get hit. So I had most of the fight be long-range, and I knew that the moment it went into close-range Toothless would go down. And without Toothless, Hiccup was doomed.

Trivia[]

  • I watched Big Hero 6 and How To Train Your Dragon 2 before writing this battle.
  • Technically Hiro should not have access to the microbots, as many a user has pointed out. They had little-to-no effect on the outcome, however. And it made for a decent Hiro vs. Hiccup scene.
  • I still consider this to be one of my closest fights ever, so I can usually understand when someone disagrees with this fight.
  • I left out the book version of Hiccup and Toothless and the comic version of Hiro and Baymax because I wanted it to be solely a battle between their latest animated incarnations.
  • I sincerely hope Death Battle does this fight at some point.

Colette Brunel vs. Asuna Yuuki[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (9)
  • Words: 891

Ah yes, the follow-up to Lloyd vs. Kirito. At first, I had a bit of trouble writing this one. If Asuna wasn't careful or allowed herself to get hit by too many of Colette's attacks, obviously she'd be reduced to a pool of unidentifiable biomass. But once Asuna's speed and skill came into play, that's where she gained the upper hand.

I tried to write this out like a revenge story, so I had Colette play the role of the innocent victim as if Asuna was going on some Kill Bill-type mission.

Trivia[]

  • Writing Colette's death made me very upset.
  • After seeing a calculation from Proto, I don't think I can safely say I got this verdict right anymore.

Shrek and Donkey vs. The Animatronics[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (10)
  • Words: 1,647

Once upon a time, I was on DeviantArt, looking through the battles in the DEATH-BATTLE-4-ALL gallery. I stumbled across a battle that is to this day, one of my favorite fan battles ever.

A battle by Zacmariozero, Scooby and Shaggy vs. The Animatronics. If you haven't read it, go read it now.

Anyway, for a short time the Animatronics were DeviantArt's buttmonkeys. In addition to their loss against Scooby and Shaggy, they lost to Chun-Li, Kevin from Home Alone, Luigi, Paul Blart, and the Angry Video Game Nerd. And I kinda wanted to beat up Freddy too, because I thought it would be fun to write out.

So after experimenting with different characters who could fight the Animatronics, I settled on Shrek and Donkey. We all knew the infamous Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life stories that were going around on the internet, and I figured that with the memetic duo of Shrek and Donkey against the quickly rising-in-popularity animatronics from FNAF, this would be a hilarious and awesome fight. And it was.

...Of course, it spawned some pretty bad FNAF fights here too (as well as some other things we just don't speak of), but overall I don't really regret this fight.

Trivia[]

  • This battle was inspired by the numerous Animatronics fights on DeviantArt.
  • I had considered pitting The Animatronics against the Ghostbusters at first, but I thought that I could portray Shrek and Donkey much better.
  • The battle starts off with the famous "Ogres are like onions" scene from the first Shrek movie.
  • Wiz and Boomstick make a reference to "Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life".
  • Freddy's line "You weren't ready for Freddy!" and Shrek's counter "Well you're about to get Shrek't!" were included simply for memetic reasons.
  • Balloon Boy punching Shrek in the crotch was a reference to the many times it happens to Shrek in his serie

Homura Akemi vs. Shadow the Hedgehog[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (11)
  • Words: 1,026

Eh... this is one of those battles I'd rather forget I did. Honestly, I don't think I portrayed these characters accurately whatsoever. Homura acted... alright, I guess. It honestly works alright for Rebellion Homura, but she's kind of out-of-character for Pre-Rebellion, which is the one used. Shadow, I guess he worked better than I've portrayed before.

Also, the context and setting made no sense for this battle whatsoever, and I think that I might have messed up on both of these characters' abilities completely. I still think Homura wins (That demon form tho), but still, I could have done these characters a little bit more justice. Especially for a time-themed battle.

Trivia[]

  • This is my first gun fight I've ever written.
  • Like with a lot of my other battles, I really don't like this fight. I have no plans to rewrite it or remaster it.
  • Madoka appears many times throughout the battle.
  • This is the battle that started Shadow's poor track record on the Fanon Wiki, and what started Sonic the Hedgehog's losing streak in my series.

Sonic the Hedgehog vs. Meta Knight[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (12)
  • Words: 993

This one... well, to be honest, the minute I decided to write this, I knew Meta Knight had it in the bag. However, between Sonic's cool attitude and the wide array of abilities both characters have, I knew I'd have a lot of fun writing it. However, it turned out to be one of the hardest battles for me to write yet, as Meta Knight fights with a sword and Sonic uses his feet and fists. So writing Sonic countering Meta Knight's attacks was a bit difficult.

Also, this is one of those other battles where... well, I honestly don't think I did a very good job of displaying both characters' abilities. I totally forgot about Meta Knight's Meta Heal and Meta Quick abilities, and as many people have pointed out both here and on DeviantArt, Sonic has a wide variety of other forms he could have used. Still, I don't care what you give either character - my verdict still stands. To be honest, this is one of my very few early fights where I feel like I made the 100% right decision and I never question whether I got it right to this day.

Trivia[]

  • I based the banter of Sonic and Meta Knight off of Deadpool vs. Deathstroke, with Sonic giving out the quick and funny one-liners while Meta Knight played the Straight Man with occasional snark.
  • Meta Knight's army appears.
  • This is one of my most confident verdicts yet.

Victini vs. Veemon[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (13)
  • Words: 1,532

Ah, yes. This battle. This is still one of my favorites from this season, mostly because of how much I like both characters. Not too long before writing this battle, I had watched all of Digimon 02, and I already had pretty much all the knowledge on Victini anyone could need. So I didn't have to do a whole lot of research.

As for this battle, I had to write it very carefully. Obviously ExVeemon and Magnamon could tear Victini to shreds if it wasn't careful, but once Victini's hax and super powerful moves came into play, it was apparent why he won.

Trivia[]

  • Davis appears throughout the battle.
  • I want this battle to become a real Death Battle.
  • I based the climax and ending of this battle off of Windindi's .

Arceus vs. Tabuu[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (14)
  • Words: 743

Now, this one was a rather weird one for me to write. For one, neither character has a whole lot in the way of visual feats, and as such writing them out was difficult to do. Tabuu has only two real appearances, and Arceus has movie and manga appearances but doesn't have many feats in either. So in the end, deciding a verdict was difficult to do. I picked Arceus as the victor because of his experience and the fact that Mind Reader could exploit Tabuu's weakness to surprise.

Other than that, I don't have a whole lot to say about this one.

Trivia[]

  • I feel like I rushed this battle to begin Renji vs. Kyoko.
  • I got this battle and idea from SuperSaiyan2Link.
  • Tabuu being compared to Hitler started a running gag throughout my series.

Renji Abarai vs. Kyoko Sakura[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (15)
  • Words: 1,148

Now, this was one of the many battles I've written that I was hyped as hell to get to writing. Also, for probably the very first time in my series, I started this battle having virtually no clue who would win. As a matter of fact, I had to ask many people who they thought would win, and why. After gathering some opinions and hearing good arguments for both characters, I settled on Kyoko winning this one due to her superior win-loss record and the whole Soul Gem thing.

Writing this one was a lot of fun, mostly because the characters have very fun personalities that clash with each other very well. We all know battles like Goku vs. Superman where the characters wouldn't realistically fight and would make good friends with each other, but Renji and Kyoko... yeah, they'd fight.

Trivia[]

  • This is another battle I've done that I could see Death Battle doing.
  • I got Renji as an opponent from SuperSaiyan2Link.
  • Kyoko's banter with Wiz and Boomstick (as well as her being a sub-host) is based off of her Self-Demonstrating article on TVTropes.
  • This is the battle that gave Kyoko her role as a sub-host.
  • After I discovered a few buffs given to Kyoko, I have even more confidence in the outcome of this fight.

Paige vs. Freddy Krueger[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (16)
  • Words: 1,402

This battle... well, I guess this battle continued the "spooky battle" trend, but... eh...

I knew going in that this would be a weird battle to write. I had to watch Don't Hug Me I'm Scared many times to really get an idea of how Paige's reality-warping worked, and how it would come into play against Freddy Krueger. This one was tough to write because obviously Freddy could tear Paige to shreds if he really wanted, but as soon as Paige began to reality-warp more, the more Freddy was logically screwed. Especially outside of the dream world.

Now, I admit that I really could have done better research on Freddy Krueger. I'm a little iffy on the outcome now, but every now and then I remember that Paige is a reality-warper and Freddy Krueger is pretty sloppy and prefers to toy with his victims. I mean, he gets beaten by regular teenagers.

Trivia[]

  • This is the battle that started Freddy Krueger's losing streak.
  • I looked up the lyrics to the first Don't Hug Me I'm Scared while writing this battle.
  • I think that if I were to re-write this one, that Freddy might take the win.
  • I really have no idea what I was thinking when I decided to write this, hence the "WHAT. HAVE I DONE." in the comments.

Spider-Man vs. Eren Jaeger[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (17)
  • Words: 1,149

Ah yes, this battle. Let me just say that I probably had more fun writing this battle than just about anything I wrote over the duration of Season 2, with the exception of possibly Goku vs. Madoka. I love both Spider-Man and Eren, and I even though Eren was logically screwed, I knew he'd put up a really good fight.

Now, I knew that Spider-Man would definitely struggle against the Rogue Titan when he lit himself on fire, but other than that Spidey had this in the bag. Even then, he'd definitely find a way to take him down when he really cracked down on him.

Trivia[]

  • I actually do speak German, which is why there is some of it throughout the battle.
  • I binge-watched Ultimate Spider-Man and Attack on Titan before writing this one.
  • Before writing this battle, I saw that this battle existed on DeviantArt. However, I decided to write this battle anyway because I liked the idea.
  • Many, MANY Attack on Titan references are made throughout this battle.

Cell vs. Mewtwo[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (18)
  • Words: 1,015

Oh yeah, this battle. To be honest, sometimes I forgot I did this battle. Even though it had a pretty high scale and I had a decent amount of fun writing it, I also admit to having done poor research on Cell and at this point, I was one of the many people who extrapolated Dragon Ball Z.

Yes, I knew Mewtwo was in for an uphill battle from the start. It didn't really deter me from making this battle though. I went and did it anyway, because I knew I could make it a really fun fight. Also, Cell and Mewtwo's dialogue really captured the "Red Oni, Blue Oni" theme I was going for.

Also, I know. Cell is NOT a Solar System buster. I would change that... but... eh...

Trivia[]

  • Cell is one of the many characters I could see going against Mewtwo in Death Battle.
  • My brother, otherwise known as SilverthehedgehogMan, sold me on this battle and convinced me to write it.
  • While it wouldn't change the outcome, I definitely overestimated Cell in this fight.
  • I used a few direct quotes for Mewtwo in this fight.
  • This battle continues the Hitler Running Gag from Arceus vs. Tabuu, this time with Cell.

M. Bison vs. Iron Fist[]

  • Words: 795

...Hmmm... this fight. Not too much I can say about this one, really. It was one of my first real martial arts fights, and so most of it was just the two characters punching at each other and whatnot. As a result, there wasn't a whole lot of room for other things I could put in there.

This is another fight I've done that I tend to forget about, mostly because... well, it's a bit forgettable. Too short, not enough real action, and I didn't research the characters as I properly should have. Though, it definitely gave me some crazy Iron Fist feats.

Trivia[]

  • The Hitler Running Gag is continued with M. Bison in this one.
  • Writing M. Bison's loss was very difficult for me, but at least I didn't have to write his death.
  • I was originally going to pit Iron Fist against Captain Falcon, but at the time I thought Iron Fist would stomp (which he doesn't)

Son Goku vs. Madoka Kaname[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (19)
  • Words: 2,479

Alright, here we go. This is one of the first fights I built up lots and lots of hype for, saying it would be one of the best fights I've ever written, or that the wiki had ever seen in general. I wrote a pretty long opening for it, and I thought of a lot of different things to put in it. However, when it came to writing the battle... well, I actually had a bit of difficulty with it. It's very much like a long-range vs. close-range battle, and as KZN (who sadly no longer comes to the wiki) pointed out, it's a bit repetitive.

Luckily, this certainly would not be my last chance at a Magnum Opus, and this shows over time. While the word count was big for its time, it's now the norm for me to write battles longer than that. So it's pretty easy to say that this battle didn't age well. Oh well, I had fun writing it.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first battle I truly built up hype for.
  • As many people in the comments have pointed out, I did indeed get the calculations wrong.
  • This battle started a trend of Season Finales where the loser gets revived at the end.
  • I used the infamous "Kaio-what?" joke from TeamFourStar and Death Battle.

Giratina vs. Scorpion[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (20)
  • Words: 886

Honestly, this is one of my more forgettable battles too. It's a bit of an unorthodox battles, as it's a flaming ninja with a few weapons futilely attacking a giant ghost snake Pokemon.

Looking back, this was a pretty horrendous stomp. A stomp pretty close to the levels of Palutena vs. Madoka, and eventually Green Lantern vs. Ganta. I said that the battle was close in the conclusion, but no... it really wasn't. To think Scorpion had any sort of chance against Giratina in this one...

Well, at least Scorpion might get another chance next season...

Trivia[]

  • I feel like this battle is a complete injustice to Scorpion.
  • I was supposed to collaborate with LordGhetsis on this battle, but he never showed up to do the fight.
  • I got the idea of using Scorpion from Apro319, and the idea of Giratina being his opponent from SuperSaiyan2Link.

Mami Tomoe vs. Vash the Stampede[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (21)
  • Words: 1,548

...Yeah, Season 3 was not off to a very good start, honestly. First I did a complete injustice to a character who deserves much better, then I go and pump this out. At first, I had a lot of trouble deciding on an outcome, and popular decision led me to go with Mami after fruitless thought. Even though, well... Vash should have won this one rather easily.

So in addition to Scorpion's total injustice, I completely slandered Vash's good name in this fight. Still, I had fun writing it, and I went and actually corrected my mistake in this fight. Just don't expect me to change any outcomes any time soon. And at least Vash might get some justice next season...

Trivia[]

  • This is the only fight I've ever went through the trouble of changing the outcome of, and I will never do this with any other battle.
  • Looking back, I don't really see how Mami could have ever won.
  • The jokes about Mami's breasts is actually a recurring joke among the Puella Magi Madoka Magica fandom.

Dark Pit vs. Morrigan Aensland[]

Oh, this battle... See, this battle came from me really wanting to use Morrigan in a battle. I would have picked up Morrigan vs. Scorpion, but I had already done Giratina vs. Scorpion... so I went and set up a poll for who Morrigan should fight. Among those on the list were Mirajane Strauss, Pit, Blair, LadyDevimon, and Sailor Mars. However, at the very end of the poll, Dark Pit won the poll... by a landslide.

So going in, I had no idea how badly Morrigan would stomp. I mean, Dark Pit is pretty powerful, but Morrigan outdoes him in just about everything. Dark Pit has Pit's 25 years of experience, but Morrigan has hundreds of years of it. Both characters are FTL in flight speed, but this is what REALLY sealed the deal: Morrigan's sex appeal. And that's what led to one of the most infamous scenes in Death Battle Fanon history.

Trivia[]

  • This is the battle that turned Season 3 around and got it on the right track.
  • I, honestly, had way too much fun writing out the ending.
  • The original ending had Morrigan turning Dark Pit into her eternal slave, but after some convincing from Chesknight, I decided against it.

Super Smash Bros. 64 Battle Royale[]

Now, this is probably the first Season 3 battle I truly decided to build up hype for... and it was one of the longest-delayed battles I've ever done. And, well, when you have to include twelve combatants in it, there's a pretty good reason for it. I was originally going to release it before Mami vs. Vash and Dark Pit vs. Morrigan, but research was taking a really long time.

It was pretty obvious to many people who would win from the start, but we also knew who would get far as well. Thinking it over, however, I'm not too sure if I got the elimination order completely correct. I definitely think Captain Falcon would have gotten slightly farther now, and I acknowledge that Post-Melodies Ness would have probably taken the win on this one.

Also, I'm off Battle Royales with more than four combatants from here on out.

Trivia[]

  • I delayed this battle a lot due to all the writing I had to do.
  • This battle played out a lot like a round of Super Smash Bros.
  • Many people in the comments think that Mario, Ness, or Luigi should have won, but they haven't sold me on that.
  • One person said that if Yoshi died in a brutal way he'd leave the Wiki. I apologize to that user now.

Maka Albarn vs. Ruby Rose[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (24)
  • Words: 1,336

Oh yes, the famous Maka vs. Ruby! Truth be told, I had wanted to do this battle for a long time, but I didn't know if I was quite the one who was up for it. Like many people who see this battle at first, I immediately thought Maka would make short work of Ruby. Then again, I hadn't seen much of RWBY, and two of my IRL friends (one of whom would become the user WeissMaus) kept pushing me to do this battle. I obliged, and after binge-watching RWBY, I realized just how close this battle was.

I sent a long time trying to figure out a winner on this one, honestly. Obviously Ruby could have used her speed to evade Maka the whole time, or sniped her from a long distance, but then I realized that Ruby would have to get in close for her basic attacks, making her speed almost negligible, and Maka's Black Blood would render her sniper useless.

In the end, I gave this one to Maka by virtue of her and Soul being smarter and more experienced. Something a lot of people seem to forget is that even before Soul Eater started, Maka and Soul had defeated 98 Kishin by themselves. And Kishin are way smarter and more powerful than Grimm.

Trivia[]

  • I've said this to be my closest battle for a long time, and it stayed that way up until Captain America vs. Albert Wesker in Season 5.
  • This battle is getting a rematch once RWBY Volume 3 is finished, and I'll be using feats from Grimm Eclipse as well.
  • Of all my battles I've done, this is the one that I hope Death Battle makes official the most.
  • Even though I prefer Maka, writing Ruby's death was pretty painful, especially considering that I had written this not too long after Monty Oum passed away.
  • I binge-watched RWBY and re-watched Soul Eater in Japanese before writing this one.
  • SoMa is pushed in this battle because it is one of my favorite anime ships of all time. Seriously, if you can't see just how perfect of a ship it is, then you're just not human.

BEN Drowned vs. Missingno.[]

Ah yes... the 3soopky5me battle of Season 3. This was during that weird transition between when I thought creepypasta characters worked for Death Battle, and when I was discovering that they really don't. And this was the battle that really convinced me that they don't.

While it was really fun making this battle as mind-trippy and reality-breaking as it was, the thing is that neither BEN nor Missingno. have a lot of canon feats, or even known abilities. There's also one fact that seems to go overlooked, mostly because of how overlooked this battle is: This is easily one of the biggest stomps I've ever written. Like, Palutena vs. Madoka levels of stompitude. BEN literally could have one-shotted Missingno., and even if BEN did NOTHING throughout the entire battle Missingno. wouldn't be able to do anything. Eventually, Missingno. would just die from Struggle recoil.

Anyway, after this battle, I'm done with 99% of creepypasta. I'm okay with using most SCP's, and RED from NES Godzilla might make an appearance sometime, but the latter mostly because A. RED has actual feats, and B. NES Godzilla is a damn good creepypasta and easily one of the greatest things I've ever read. I've read it like 5 times and I love it each time. BEN Drowned... not so much. Anything involving Missingno.... not so much either.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of my shortest battles ever, and for good reason.
  • Surprisingly enough, this is one of the only battles I've written where the fourth wall is broken during the fight section.
  • I needed about ten minutes to reconfigure my life after writing this one.
  • This battle turned me off to 99% of creepypasta.

Doctor Strange vs. Kefka Palazzo[]

Oh yes, one of the most hyped battles of Season 3. Ever sine Season 2 (specifically during research for Spider-Man vs. Eren Jaeger when I was binge-watching Ultimate Spider-Man and I watched the episode featuring Doctor Strange), I had a huge desire to use Doctor Strange in a battle. I knew that Doctor Fate was his perfect opponent, but I really don't like doing Marvel vs. DC fights. Putting Doctor Strange off for a while, it wasn't until a while when I finally thought of it - Kefka Palazzo from Final Fantasy.

After announcing the battle on DeviantArt, I was told that Doctor Strange stomped beyond belief. I wasn't quite sure how true that was, especially considering how Doctor Strange got his hands broken by Hulk and was killed by Red Hulk in one timeline. Then when I really began to research Doctor Strange, I discovered just how powerful the Sorcerer Supreme was. Hell, he really could have ended this one by pulling out the Eye of Agamotto. There was no need for all that destruction to take place. But I was really beginning to like Kefka and his antics, so it was really painful for me to write out his inevitable death. But at least I had fun writing the battle.

Trivia[]

  • This battle was a direct result of wanting to use Doctor Strange.
  • I delayed this battle on account of how long it took me to research Strange, and the vast amount of abilities he had.
  • This is one of the few times where I REALLY began to like a character during research, and after discovering that he'd lose, it really destroyed me.
  • Sometimes I feel disappointed with this battle, but considering just how badly Strange stomps, I'm not so sure what else I could do with it.
  • I was going to do a Useful Notes blog on this, but it was highly unnecessary considering how easy it was to determine who would win.

Bebop & Rocksteady vs. Magikarp[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (27)
  • Words: 873

If you guys couldn't tell, it's not very common for me to write a battle solely for the purpose of comedy. This is one of those rare occasions. I had this idea since finishing up Season 2, and I knew I'd have a blast while writing it out. Come the actual battle, it was actually one of the easiest ones for me to write. Magikarp wouldn't have to worry about tanking Bebop & Rocksteady's attacks, considering it's durable enough to tank falling at terminal velocity at heights from above tall mountains. It was mostly just a matter of how Magikarp would kill them.

But then I realized exactly how it would go about. Not only are Bebop and Rocksteady, like, REALLY stupid, but slapstick is something that makes people laugh. ESPECIALLY at the hands (fins?) of a character often seen as weak.

Now, a lot of people were telling me that Bebop and Rocksteady should have won... but see, this was 80's Bebop & Rocksteady. I know that they killed Donatello in the comics, and that they're actually pretty tough in the 2012 series, but the 80's versions are the ones most notorious for being idiotic.

Trivia[]

  • I watched a few scientific YouTube videos on how Magikarp would actually be very dangerous to us if it were real before writing this one.
  • I erroneously stated that Magikarp could tank mountain-busting and reality-warping attacks, even though that's all game mechanics. Doesn't change that he's more durable than the beater duo though.
  • This battle started a trend of me writing one comedic battle per season.

B.B. Hood vs. Bigby Wolf[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (28)
  • Words: 1,091

This one was a pretty fun one. Much like Morrigan before, this battle came from an insatiable desire to use B.B. Hood. Like Morrigan, I put up a poll to see who B.B. Hood's opponent would be. Among the choices were Batman, Death the Kid (who would later appear in an actual battle), and Mami Tomoe. I'm sure there were more, I just can't think of them right now.

Anyway, I was pretty lucky that one of my IRL friends (WeissMaus again) had knowledge on Bigby Wolf, because she provided me with a lot of the info that I used for him in the battle. When it came to the battle itself, I knew that I would have to write B.B. Hood's movements very, very carefully. Obviously the wolf could rip her to shreds if he had gotten close enough to her, but as soon as Hood's Darkstalker-hunting abilities came into play, as well as her experience taking on werewolves, I knew Bigby wasn't going to last much longer.

I've heard a lot of people disagree with this fight, and there's probably a good reason for that. I see this fight as a similar one to Guts VS Nightmare. While Bigby outclasses Hood in physical stats for the most part, Hood has a weaponry advantage, experience fighting much more powerful opponents, smarts, and a way to incapacitate the wolf. But like I said, given the chance Bigby could have ended this very quickly. It's just that B.B. Hood doesn't play that way.

Looking back, I didn't really portray either character as well as I could have. I made B.B. Hood come off as the villainous type, and Bigby Wolf play more like a hero. In reality, both characters are anti-heroes, it's just that Bigby is more of a Lawful Neutral and Hood is a Chaotic Neutral.

Trivia[]

  • This battle came from a desire to use B.B. Hood, and Bigby Wolf won the poll as her opponent.
  • The joke about Bigby Wolf being a Wolverine ripoff seemed to gather a lot of hate in the comments, but I don't regret making that joke whatsoever.
  • In many ways, I see this battle as sort of my own Guts VS Nightmare.
  • This battle continued Darkstalkers' winning streak on the wiki.

Dante vs. Homura Akemi[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (29)
  • Words: 4,477

Ah yes, the glorious Season 3 finale. Once upon a time, I was on the wiki chat when a user by the name of Dbfan and critic was telling me about how powerful Dante was. Now, I knew Dante to be a formidable opponent - but Critic was pushing that Dante at his pinnacle could take on casual universe- no, multiverse busters. Intrigued, I decided to figure out how Homura would do in a battle against him. And in that moment, Dante vs. Homura was born.

Now, I hadn't played any of the Devil May Cry games, but I definitely had to look up some videos of the gameplay and cutscenes. I figured I'd watch the anime as well while I was at it. And to really confirm Critic's claims about how powerful SMT Dante was, I watched his battle with Demi Fiend. And I was just beyond confused.

This is honestly one of those battles that could have ended much differently if it weren't for Homura's hax. In terms of physical abilities and weaponry, Dante takes it pretty handily. To be honest, if it were canon Dante versus pre-Rebellion Homura, I wouldn't hesitate at all to give it to Dante. But then once I watched Rebellion, I realized that this might not exactly be a fight Dante could win. He definitely stood a chance with SMT, but Homura's sheer mind and soul hax is what won her this one.

Anyway, for a time, this was my longest battle yet. At almost 4,500 words, I was pretty damn proud of this one. Of course, this battle would later be dethroned by the next season's finale.

Trivia[]

  • For the first time since Palutena vs. Madoka, Kyubey has a cameo in this fight again.
  • For those of you who didn't take part, I actually had people suggest fights they wrote to be the battlefields of this fight.
  • A few people were upset when I killed off the other characters who made cameos in this fight, but since they were revived at the end, I don't really see anything too wrong with it.
  • A lot more battles were going to make cameos at first, but I had trouble fitting them all in. Apologies to those of you whose fights didn't make it into the final battle.
  • I included Ryu VS Scorpion as a cameo in the fight because at the time, it was my second-favorite canon Death Battle. I would have included Kirby vs. Majin Buu, but I was already putting Critic's Majin Buu vs. Flandre in there.
  • This is the first battle I wrote where Vincent Valentine made a cameo.
  • Boba Fett, Vincent Valentine, Flandre Scarlet, and Scorpion (in order of appearance in my Death Battle series) all returned for fights of their own, or are getting their own fights later on down the road.
  • This is the first of a few battles I've done with a fake-out K.O.! screen.

The Demoman vs. Gambit[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (30)

Before writing this one, I had noticed just how popular Team Fortress 2 fights were getting. There was Agent's Guile VS Soldier and Charlie Nash VS Demoman, as well as Bon's Bomberman VS Demoman. Suddenly interested in Team Fortress 2 myself, I decided to try my hand with the Demoman. And what better opponent for him than the Cajun mutant of the X-Men, notorious for making stuff explode, Gambit?

To be honest, I'm not really too proud of this fight. It's not as long as I had wanted to be, I didn't really show off too much of either character, and until I went and rewrote it on DeviantArt, I didn't even get the characters' personalities down too well either. I stand by the verdict as much as ever (to be honest, it's not really that close), but still. I feel like I could have done a lot more with this battle.

Trivia[]

  • Gambit finding the pictures of Rogue kissing the other members of the RED Team is a reference to the "Meet the Spy" short from Team Fortress 2.
  • I watched the entirety of the "Meet the RED Team" right before writing this one.
  • I picked Gambit as The Demoman's opponent after reading a battle between Gambit and Roman Torchwick from RWBY on DeviantArt.

Sasuke Uchiha vs. Kyoko Sakura[]

I was on chat once, and I was considering re-using Kyoko for a battle. During this time, a meme was going around known as "Sauce-gay", in reference to the name of Sasuke Uchiha. As a result, the chat came up with Sasuke Uchiha vs. Kyoko Sakura as a battle idea for me. Seeing as how I'm not a fan of Sasuke or the Naruto series, I first wrote it off as a battle that I would only take as a joke. Of course I thought Kyoko would stomp at first.

...But then I really began to research Sasuke. And you bet my eyes physically widened when I found out the sheer amount of powers, abilities, and weapons Sasuke has. After looking at some of his feats, I found myself thinking, "Oh sh*t, Kyoko might actually lose this one..."

After some heavy consideration, I eventually gave it to Kyoko. Why? Because even though Sasuke is faster, smarter, and has a wider array of powers, Kyoko is more durable, she can't die unless her Soul Gem breaks, and she has a good chance of ending it all before the battle even ends. And not to mention that whole planet-labyrinth busting.

...Which, to be honest, isn't quite as impressive as I believed it to be at first. I first thought it made her planet-level, which it really doesn't. It's, at most, a multi-continental feat. While I definitely believe she could still win, I'm now iffy on this outcome. However, all outcomes are final. Plus, PMMM is getting a new movie next year, so Kyoko might get a buff that legit allows her to win.

Trivia[]

  • This battle includes a reference to Kyoko's previous fight with Renji at the beginning.
  • As much as I really don't like Sasuke, I tried my best to portray him as accurately and respectfully as possible.
  • The "Sauce-gay" joke was a running joke I got from the chat.
  • Wiz makes a reference to the infamous "Metal and Titanium" incident during Kyoko's analysis.
  • Madara Uchiha makes a cameo at the end, as a reference to Shadow's upcoming Madara vs. Kyoko, which I am honestly placing all my bets on Madara to win unless Kyoko gets a significant buff in the next PMMM movie.
  • If I were to write this one now, I might have painfully written a victory for Sasuke.

Dan Hibiki vs. Ash Ketchum[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (32)
  • Words: 1,228

I don't know about you guys, but I get really tired of all the flak Ash Ketchum gets. People say that he's a bad trainer for constantly losing battles in the anime, especially battles against higher-tier trainers. They also bash him for sometimes making stupid decisions, for his character never being replaced, for releasing his Pokemon, and for being perpetually ten years old. And to be honest, I think Ash deserves WAY more credit than that.

The original plan was to use Ash with his Pokemon at some time, but after reading a battle on DeviantArt showcasing a duel between Ash by himself against Huey Freeman from The Boondocks, with Ash winning, I realized just how powerful Ash was by himself. He has durability and endurance way beyond that of any human! His willpower rivals Hal Jordan's! He can lift up a 159-pound Larvitar without straining himself! He can manipulate Aura! He has survived death itself at least twice! He told Arceus what to do! I don't care what anyone says, Ash is a badass.

So who to use Ash against? Why, none other than Dan Hibiki of Street Fighter! Dan's another character who has feats way above the average human, but also gets unnecessary flak. Also, they trained Blanka and Pikachu, who previously did battle on an official Death Battle. So I thought it worked out perfectly.

And what did we get? Hilarity is what we got. Surprisingly... this was one of my easiest Season 4 battles to determine an outcome on. Dan may have experience and training on his side, but... Ash outdoes him everywhere else. He's far physically superior, his experience with Pokemon battling makes him a better tactician, and Aura gives him basically every single advantage he could ever wish for.

Also, I have another Ash fight planned for the not-so-near future...

Trivia[]

  • This battle starts off as sort of an aftermath to Blanka VS Pikachu.
  • This is one of many battles that kickstarted Dan's absolutely pathetic losing streak.
  • Hilariously enough, this was one of my easiest outcomes to ever determine.
  • To this day, this is the only battle I've ever done where the loser doesn't die directly from an attack from the winner.

Ghost Rider VS Alucard[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (33)
  • Words: 1,481

Before doing this battle, I read JeffersonAirship of DeviantArt's Spawn VS Alucard, and someone else's Alucard VS Kars. I also read Derpurple's Alucard vs. Dio Brando. After reading all these Alucard battles, I became intrigued and decided to do an Alucard battle of my own. The problem was, I had no idea who to pit him against.

Then one day, I came across the Ghost Rider VS Alucard page. Intrigued, I saw that the battle had been abandoned. So I decided to pick it up myself.

Because I didn't really have much knowledge on either character, I went and read up on both of their abilities. I determined that Alucard held a number of physical advantages, but there was one thing that made this battle really difficult for him - and that's the fact that he really lacks a way to kill Ghost Rider. While his holy weaponry would definitely hurt Ghost Rider more than most weapons, it still takes way more than a bullet from a holy gun to kill or even severely damage Ghost Rider. He's a pretty tough force of nature.

The biggest question was, "How would the Penance Stare affect Alucard?" Because depending on that answer, it would force me to make a tougher decision. In the end, I determined that it would definitely do him in because of all the souls he has, and all the sins that they inevitably would have committed. Especially considering that most of those souls he has are of sinners themselves.

While one could argue that Alucard should have been immune because he feels no remorse for those sins (i.e. Punisher), people seem to forget that that was a gag feat and that other characters who should realistically feel no remorse for their sins (i.e. Galactus) have been brought down by the Stare.

I hyped up this battle as one of the big battles of Season 4, but to be honest, I feel like I could have done a lot more with this fight. But really... it's Ghost Rider. What else can one do?

Trivia[]

  • Alexander Anderson makes a cameo at the end of this battle, and would later be in a battle of his own.
  • This is one of the battles that continued Hellsing's poor record on the wiki. I apologize for that.
  • This was a result of wanting to use Alucard in a battle.
  • I said that Alucard has no holy weaponry, which is kind of his thing, but in reality it hardly changes the outcome at all.
  • This battle is canon to the events of Shadow's Alucard vs. Vincent Valentine, and also plays into part of the timeline of the battles I've written.
  • Deadpool appears at least twice in this battle.

Lelouch vi Britannia vs. Light Yagami[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (34)
  • Words: 1,838

Way before Season 1 was even over, I compiled a list of characters I would never use. One such character was Lelouch vi Britannia, simply because Geass gives him an incredible advantage against nearly any opponent. The problem is, if he couldn't use Geass on an opponent for whatever reason, then he'd essentially lose.

After doing 3 seasons, I finally decided to cave in and do this battle after realizing just how perfect of an opponent Light Yagami was for him. Bishonen protagonists who rely on their wits rather than on physical abilities, incredibly smart, go by aliases, and they both have a companion who granted them an ability or item. They also have severe god complexes and would like to conquer the world.

Going in, I was going to make this battle a Skype battle with two months of prep-time. However, I soon realized exactly why Death Battle doesn't allow prep-time - what would the characters even do? Research each other? Then make strategies based on that? It kinda ruins the point of Death Battle to be honest. So I scrapped that idea and instead decided to write it as a mostly random encounter, and how they would use their wits to counter each other.

Now, I'm going to be honest. Even though the writing isn't exactly something Dickens himself would be impressed with, and it definitely doesn't rival my top tier fights in terms of length, it's one of my proudest battles. Why? I was actually able to write it and make it interesting. Neither character does direct fighting, and no matter what either character does, it would essentially be a one-shot. So instead of witty lines or fast-paced action, I took up time by having the characters devise strategies, and have Ryuk and C.C. help out Light and Lelouch.

In the end, I determined that Geass > Death Note. Light has to get a name out of Lelouch, while all Lelouch needs to do is look Light in the eye. And since Light is a polite guy who always looks people he's having conversations with in the eye, he would fall victim to Geass much more quickly than I wrote it out.

As stated before, I had to write this one as a strategic battle. While I could have Ghost Rider and Alucard just brawl it out, I had to write Lelouch and Light planning out their every moves in an attempt to get what they needed out of each other. Quite a difference in writing style.

Trivia[]

  • To be honest, I have no clue how I even materialized this battle, let alone make it interesting.
  • This battle was going to include prep-time for both characters, but writing out how prep-time would actually work and basing a conclusion from it is incredibly difficult, if not impossible.
  • Lelouch rejected the Death Note at the end because I ruled Geass to be a much more effective tool.
  • This one wasn't as close as I made it out to be, as realistically Lelouch would have gone in and used Geass right from the beginning, ending the battle quickly and easily.
  • If Light hadn't rejected the Shinigami Eyes, then this one might have gone a little differently.

Voldo vs. Vega[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (35)

After watching Fatal Fiction's Vega VS Baraka, I was pretty interested in Vega as a character. I had considered using him after I thought I had confirmed every Season 4 battle, and suddenly it hit me - Voldo from Soulcalibur. Clawed fighting game villains, loyal to M. Bison and Nightmare respectively.

Honestly, this battle was a bit more of a filler fight, so to say. It was a little straightforward. Vega was obviously the faster and smarter of the two, but Voldo has actual armor and wouldn't mind being tortured, and his superior durability and strength would mean that he could take a fight in close range. Plus, two katars are better than one claw hand.

Now, the battle reflects not only that, but how I much prefer Vega to Voldo. I really don't like Voldo (bad memories of always losing to him in Soulcalibur II, plus the fact that his appearance is outright horrifying), but even I admit he had it in the bag. So with Vega's superior speed and smarts, it gave me an excuse to have him kick the crap out of Voldo for most of the fight. If you didn't notice, Voldo doesn't really land a real hit until the end, where he manages to pull off the win.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of my few battles where my preferred character lost, and to a character I really don't even like.
  • This battle started the streak of Vega being treated as an absolute joke, even though he's anything but that.
  • I did this battle because I was interested in using Vega.
  • This battle, along with Boba Fett vs. Captain Falcon, Juri Han vs. Tira, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) vs. Woodpecker (Ganta Igarashi), and Aang vs. Kyogre was originally not included in the Season 4 lineup.
  • As a result, this battle is what started the trend of me doing 15 battles per Season instead of 10.

Boba Fett vs. Captain Falcon[]

ParaGoomba348's Death Battle Trivia (36)
  • Words: 1,585

Going into this fight, I instantly was intrigued at how I would handle going about this one. I don't do very many "close-range vs. long-range" fights, and compared to other fights I've done, Boba Fett and Captain Falcon have pretty damn different fighting styles. When you compare the fighting styles of these two to those of Demoman and Gambit, Sasuke and Kyoko, Dan and Ash, Ghost Rider and Alucard, Lelouch and Light, and Voldo and Vega, it's a pretty big difference.

As for the fight itself, a lot of people were telling me how awesome the fight sequence was. In my own opinion, I think I could have done a lot better. I sometimes feel like I spent too long describing small movements and detailing decisions on their parts, even though this battle would have, in actuality, been a fast-paced fight if ScrewAttack had done it. However, the vehicle chase was probably my favorite part to write out, as it showed off just how Captain Falcon was able to hold his own despite the Blue Falcon having no weaponry.

And let's be honest, finishing off a battle with a Falcon Punch is pretty damn satisfying. Perhaps that's why people liked this battle so much?

Trivia[]

  • This battle was done as a result of both characters having poor track records (at the time, in Captain Falcon's case)
  • In that same sense, this is the battle that established Captain Falcon as a perfectly competent combatant and got him the recognition and respect he deserves.
  • Looking back, I actually underestimated Captain Falcon... a freaking lot, actually. He probably would have kinda stomped, thinking about it.
  • There's a reference to the infamous "Metal and Titanium" in Boba Fett's analysis.
  • Wiz and Boomstick repeat Snake's and Otacon's lines about Captain Falcon almost exactly.
  • Writing out the Falcon Punch might have been one of my absolute favorite moments in Death Battle history, partially because it was what would finally get Captain Falcon a win after losing four times in a row and Falcon Punches are badass.
