Hello, folks. It's bothered me for a while that on the Hypixel network, you can send messages up to 256 characters long if you are connected with Minecraft 1.11 or higher, but only 100 character messages if you play on any earlier version. So I changed that.
I looked for a mod that did exactly what I wanted, but I couldn't find one. 256chat increases the maximum amount of characters you can type and send in chat from 100 to 256. It doesn't do that by splitting up larger messages and sending multiple short messages. It actually sends messages longer than 100 characters.
So then, a few notes about it: I make no guarantees that this mod will be compatible with any other chat mod... I'd guess it probably won't, actually, due to how the mod works. Second, and this is very important: this mod probably will not work on any server besides hypixel.net. 256chat requires a server that not only supports Minecraft 1.8, but also supports chat messages up to 256 characters. I have tested multiple other minigame servers and also messed with a few Spigot plugins I found online, and none of them worked correctly with this mod.
If you use this mod to send a message longer than 100 characters on a server that does not support it, you will be kicked from the server. This is a feature built directly into Vanilla Minecraft, so the only way you'll get around it is someone specifically programming the server to account for it. So consider yourself warned. I claim no responsibility for bad things happening to you while you use this mod.
Basically most of you have newer Minecraft versions than 1.8.9 by default. So your AppData Minecraft folder only has the files for those newer versions. To remedy this you have to load up Minecraft and before you press play on the top bar select installations.
